Pakistan’s blasphemy law and the fanatic, fundamentalist politics behind it aren’t going away anytime soon, Asia Bibi’s first lawyer told The Catholic Register at a celebration of the 105th World Day of Migrants and Refugees in Toronto’s St. Philip Neri Church on Sept. 29.

Denmark repeals blasphemy law, Canada considers the same

The Danish parliament recently repealed it’s 46-year-old blasphemy law. The Canadian government is considering the same with the June 6 introduction of Bill C-51.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – The Danish parliament has repealed an anti-blasphemy law at a time when such laws are still used around the world.

In Pakistan, mass arrests halt rally backing blasphemy law

LAHORE, Pakistan – Supporters of Pakistan’s strict blasphemy law attempted to march in Lahore on Wednesday, but were thwarted when police made more than 150 arrests.
