Safeguarding creation is religious obligation, Vatican officials say

VATICAN CITY – Christians and Muslims, believers in one God, have an obligation to safeguard the world God created, said the Vatican's annual message to Muslims for the end of Ramadan.

Interfaith Ramadan dinner builds bonds

Young people build bonds over their love of faith and tradition at interfaith Iftar dinner.

TORONTO – During Ramadan, Muslims across the globe share the Iftar meal each evening. Iftar allows Muslims to physically replenish the body’s energy after fasting from dawn until dusk and to mentally reflect on the beauty and sacrifice of their faith.

CCCB promotes dialogue with Muslims

The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops published a new resource to help Canadian Catholics understand their Muslim neighbours who celebrate the end of Ramadan (Ed al-Fitr). This is the first time the CCCB published a resource on relations between Catholics and Muslims.

OTTAWA - Canada’s Catholic bishops have released a pamphlet to promote understanding and dialogue with Muslims meant to coincide with Id al-Fitr, the July 18 feast marking the end of Ramadan.

Local Muslims reaching out

Muslims feel there is much misunderstanding of their religion and are reaching out to local communities with dinner, coffee and tea.

TORONTO - As of March 10 2,942 people had hit the “like” button on Pegida Canada’s Facebook page. Another 97 people had signed up to attend Pegida Quebec’s planned March 28 rally in Montreal.
