Unacceptable changes

As a Catholic school teacher I was very happy to hear that the PC government is committed to Catholic education in Ontario. Many Catholic and non-Catholic Christian parents still want a faith-based education for their children. 

God’s creation

All of God’s creation, animal and plant, was meant for man to use judiciously. Those who misuse or abuse any form of creation are going to have to be accountable to God. Plants are as much part of creation as are animals.

Pioneers

As 50 years have passed since the legalization of abortion in Canada, we should acknowledge some of the early pioneers in the fight to stop the passage of this inhumane law.

Activities surrounding the $35-million One Heart, One Soul campaign are multiplying across the Diocese of Hamilton.

Mark Warawa, the Conservative MP from Langley-Aldergrove in B.C., is leaving politics as he battles cancer. In his farewell speech to the House of Commons on May 7 — his 69th birthday — Warawa made an impassioned plea for better palliative care in this country. Here is an abridged excerpt from his speech:

An appeals court in Ontario has upheld a College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario requirement that doctors in the province must give referrals for medical services such as assisted dying and abortion that conflict with their moral or religious beliefs.
