Moral cowardice

Canada’s ministers of foreign affairs and defence, Francoise-Philippe Champagne and Harjit Sajjan, should not have implied that our government generally supports U.S President Donald Trump’s actions toward Iran, including his order to assassinate an Iranian general on Iraqi soil.

Re: New Mass at 50: a face-to-face issue (Dec. 22):

I find much beauty in the Latin Mass. I grew up with it. But I also find beauty in the Novus Ordo in its simplicity and its native tongue, or mix of Latin and English.

The article states: “By 1763 King Louis XV had no choice but to cede France’s North American possessions entirely to England’s King George III.”

When The Catholic Register launched its annual children’s Christmas contest in 2011 there was some concern about receiving enough entries to make it a real competition. Nine contests and thousands of entries later, it’s obvious those worries were unfounded.

No more abuse

The reports on abuse in the Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 issues left people wondering if there is nothing else worth reporting on than repeating the same issues in a Catholic newspaper.
