Sacrificial example

I want to applaud and fall down on my knees in thanksgiving for the courage and faithfulness of the Delta Hospice Society in British Columbia for not caving in to government pressure to conform to the evil agenda of MAiD (Medical Assistance in Dying).  

Canadian Cardinal Michael Czerny, son of migrants to Canada and head of the Vatican department that works on behalf of migrants and refugees, took possession of his parish in a heavily immigrant neighbourhood of Rome Jan. 19.

Moral cowardice

Canada’s ministers of foreign affairs and defence, Francoise-Philippe Champagne and Harjit Sajjan, should not have implied that our government generally supports U.S President Donald Trump’s actions toward Iran, including his order to assassinate an Iranian general on Iraqi soil.

Re: New Mass at 50: a face-to-face issue (Dec. 22):

I find much beauty in the Latin Mass. I grew up with it. But I also find beauty in the Novus Ordo in its simplicity and its native tongue, or mix of Latin and English.

The article states: “By 1763 King Louis XV had no choice but to cede France’s North American possessions entirely to England’s King George III.”

Three former students at Toronto’s St. Michael’s College School were  sentenced to two years probation on Dec. 19 for their part in sexual assaults committed on campus in 2018.

Over 100 families celebrated Jesus’ birthday just a little early at the annual Daughters of St. Paul Baby Jesus Party on Dec. 7.
