The Do Not Call List? It just doesn’t work

Are you ever pestered by annoying telemarketers trying to sell you things you don’t want? Have you registered your phone numbers on the Do Not Call List and still the calls keep coming?

If so, you’re not alone. It happens to us each and every day. It also happens to friends and neighbours, to pretty much anyone who has a telephone whom I’ve spoken with about the topic.

And yet, last week the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission issued a laudatory news release about its national Do Not Call List celebrating its fifth anniversary.
