Firmly for Fernandes

  • January 4, 2024

I congratulate Rudy Fernandes for his beautifully expressed sentiments in the Dec. 17th Catholic Register about the effort of he and his wife Maureen to keep Christ in our Christmas wishes.

They want to avoid the secularization of greetings that comes from calling the greatest event in our Catholic calendar a season. It takes courage to oppose a “woke” culture that ignores all tradition, especially of a religious nature.

A 1946 book by C.S Lewis was prophetic about how the world would soon be unable to differentiate right from wrong. Lewis described a world comprising pagans, those that don’t believe, agnostics and firm believers. Rudy and Maureen occupy a prominent place in the last group. They need our gratitude for the wonderful example they set. God bless them.
