Daily Lenten to-do list helps in Easter preparations

The season of Lent is all about preparing, which means there are plenty of to-do lists for Catholics as they count down the days to Easter Sunday and the Resurrection.

Many parishes are taking a very hands-on approach in helping parishioners through the Lenten journey, opening up more opportunities for prayer, confession, Stations of the Cross and retreats. And there also are plenty of online tools to help people grow in their faith: everything from links to reading materials and suggested prayers to recipes for meals.

One parish in the Toronto area that has taken up the do-list approach is St. Anne’s in Brampton, Ont., producing a daily do-to calendar for parishioners, They have produced a daily calendar with tasks both practical and contemplative. Here’s some of the suggestions:

March 13: Fast from anger and give a smile to everyone.

March 28: Fast from complaining.

March 30: Give at least $2 to a homeless
