Canadian Jesuit plays role in launch of Pope's exhortation

Deacon Adam Hincks, S.J. from Canada gives an interview during a news conference to present Pope Francis' exhortation, "Gaudete et Exsultate" ("Rejoice and Be Glad"), at the Vatican April 9. Deacon Hincks was one of four people chosen to read the exhortation in advance and give their impressions.

Canadian Jesuit Deacon Adam Hincks was one of the first people in the world to read Pope Francis’ latest apostolic exhortation, a distinction that isn’t lost on the 36-year-old astrophysicist.

VATICAN – God calls all Christians to be saints – not plastic statues of saints, but real people who make time for prayer and who show loving care for others in the simplest gestures, Pope Francis said in his new document on holiness.
