Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ music soars above his suffering

Despite living a miserable life, Ludwig van Beethoven penned some incredibly joyful music.

By most accounts, Ludwig van Beethoven had a pretty miserable life, which makes his Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral” all the more remarkable.
