Pope to press inter-religious respect in Myanmar

Amid international condemnation of Myanmar’s treatment of the Rohingya people, Pope Francis will visit Myanmar and Bangladesh to recognize each nation’s struggle for independence, promote interreligious respect and encourage the minority Catholic communities.

Pope praises Rome's first interreligious half-marathon

Mother Teresa showed young Buddhist who Jesus is

A personal encounter with Mother Teresa led Father Akihiro to become Catholic and eventually a priest. He was born into a Buddhist family and said he didn't know the name of Jesus.

VATICAN CITY – A personal encounter with Mother Teresa and her work serving the poor and the dying led a young Japanese man on a journey of faith and conversion.

Many faiths, one future

Fo Guang Shan Temple hosted its inaugural Interfaith Youth Forum to connect youth voices from all faiths across the Greater Toronto Area.

MISSISSAUGA, ONT. - The main shrine of Mississauga’s grand Fo Guang Shan Temple is typically used by Buddhists for weekly services or meditation. On May 2, however, a modest crowd of Catholics, Sikhs, Jews and Muslims joined with the Buddhists to address a situation that  all grapple with — the future.

Buddhist centre breaks tradition, shows Pope revered relic

Pope Francis greets Buddhist monks in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Jan. 14. The pope paid an unscheduled visit to a Buddhist temple at the headquarters of the Maha Bodhi Society, responding to an invitation he had received the previous day from its head priest.

MAKOLA, Sri Lanka - When Pope Francis made a surprise visit to a prominent Buddhist temple in Colombo Jan. 14, the head of the Maha Bodhi Society of Sri Lanka reciprocated by showing the Pope historical relics of Buddhas' disciples, normally exposed only for the annual Buddhist feast in May.
