Galveston-Houston readies for historic hurricane, first in 10-plus years

Hurricane Harvey was "dangerously approaching the Texas Coast" Aug. 25 and expected to drop as much as 35 inches of rain and usher in "life-threatening" storm-surge flooding upon landfall late Aug. 25 or early the next morning, the National Hurricane Center said.
