USCCB officials urge Homeland Security to defer deportation of Chaldeans

WASHINGTON – The president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the chairmen of the bishops' migration and international policy committees urged Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly to defer deportation of Chaldean Christians and others arrested June 11.

Trump administration announces wide-ranging immigration guidelines

In two memos, Homeland Security published two guidelines that the White House says would enhance enforcement of immigration laws.

WASHINGTON – In two memos published Feb. 20, the Department of Homeland Security outlined guidelines that White House officials said would enhance enforcement of immigration laws inside the country as well as prevent further unauthorized immigration into the U.S.
