Bishops pay tribute as king abdicates

A pool picture released by the Spanish Royal Household June 2 shows Spain’s King Juan Carlos delivering a speech to explain the reasons for his abdication on a TV broadcast after the abdication was announced by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.

OXFORD, ENGLAND - King Juan Carlos of Spain received a tribute from the country’s bishops after he announced his decision to abdicate the throne in favour of his son.
