Eparch’s departure catches Slovak Catholics by surprise

Bishop Mar Marian Andrej Pacák, eparch of the Eastern-rite diocese of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, resigned as bishop suddenly last month.

Canada’s tiny Byzantine-rite Slovak diocese based in Toronto was shocked to learn it no longer had a bishop as of Oct. 20.

Iceland consecrates new wooden church, a gift from Slovakian Catholics

The newly consecrated church in Reykjavik, Iceland, is a gift from the Slovak Catholic Church.
