German bishops concerned prenatal Down syndrome test will become routine

BERLIN -- German bishops are concerned that a decision guaranteeing German health insurers will pay for pregnant women's blood tests to detect Down syndrome will lead to abortion.

Four years ago, CBS online news posted a story about Down Syndrome in Iceland. Better put, a story about the elimination of all babies in the womb who would likely be born with Down Syndrome.

Bill aims to protect Down syndrome babies

Lucy Fank said she didn’t need screening to see if her now 18-year-old daughter Victoria would be born with Down syndrome. She and husband Alcido consider themselves lucky to have Victoria.

Lucy and Alcido Fank were never interested in having an amniocentesis screening to find out whether or not their baby would be born with Down syndrome.

Mary Marrocco: Power of compassion can overcome rage

Lucas Warren, the 2018 “Gerber spokesbaby,” is the first child with Down syndrome selected to be a “Gerber baby.” Speakers at a recent United Nations panel said aborting a child with a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome is a gross violation of human rights.

An article defending the widespread practice of abortion for babies with Down syndrome disturbed me.

Four friends with Down syndrome started a thriving pizza service in Argentina

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Mateo studied baking and Leandro pastry making. Franco and Mauricio wanted to be waiters. These overlapping interests led the four friends with Down syndrome to start a successful pizza service in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
