Laity participate in Chaldean Catholic synod

Lay people joined clergy during the first two days of the weeklong Chaldean Catholic synod in northern Iraq. AMMAN, Jordan -- The Chaldean Catholic Church concluded a weeklong synod in Ainkawa, a Christian enclave in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil, in which laity from the church's various dioceses in the Middle East and the diaspora also participated for the first time.

ShareLife's future plan to include more laity involvement

In the early 1980s, canvassers go door-to-door to raise funds for ShareLife. The charitable fundraising arm of the Toronto archdiocese wants more lay participation for next year’s campaign.

TORONTO – ShareLife is going back to its roots with a plan that taps into past strategies to encourage more involvement at the parish level.
