Retired Polish primate, Cardinal Glemp, dies at 83

Retired Cardinal Jozef Glemp of Warsaw, who served as primate of the Catholic Church in Poland during the final years of communism and during the restoration of democracy, died Jan. 23 in Warsaw at age 83. He is pictured celebrating Mass in 2009 at the K atyn Memorial Monument at St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Niles, Ill.

VATICAN CITY - Retired Cardinal Jozef Glemp of Warsaw, who served as primate of the Catholic Church in Poland during the final years of communism and during the restoration of democracy, died Jan. 23 at the age of 83.
