World Social Forum reviewed

TORONTO — Just which other world is possible will be the subject when Prof. Janet Conway reviews the World Social Forum at the Scarboro Foreign Missions headquarters, 2685 Kingston Rd., March 10, beginning at 10 a.m.

In the annual Scarboro Missions Lecture, Conway will review her experience of the January 2007 World Social Forum in Nairobi, Kenya, and the evolution of the annual gathering since it was inaugurated under the banner “Another world is possible” in 2003.

Conway is the author of Identity, Place, Knowledge: Social Movements Contesting Globalization. She teaches in the Ryerson University department of politics and public administration.
