VATICAN CITY - Continuing his efforts to ensure financial transparency and accountability, Pope Francis named Cardinal Kevin J. Farrell, prefect of the Dicastery for Laity, the Family and Life to lead a commission that determines which economic activities remain confidential.

Canadian joins dicastery’s new youth advisory board

VATICAN CITY -- The Dicastery for Laity, the Family and Life announced it is setting up a specialized team of 20 young Catholic leaders, including Canadian Joseph Edward San José, as advisors to help with youth ministry issues.

Abuse battle expands to lay movements

VATICAN CITY -- The Vatican has expanded its fight against sex abuse in the Church by giving all lay movements and associations a December deadline to submit formal guidelines and protocols for reporting and preventing cases of abuse.
