Ursuline nuns prepare for a fond adieu

QUEBEC CITY - Thirty-one years after Samuel de Champlain founded Quebec City in 1608, three Ursuline sisters arrived in New France packing little more than their simple possessions and their faith. Today the sisters who inherited that founding legacy are set to leave their grand motherhouse in much the same way.

350,000 pass through Quebec Holy Door

The Holy Door at Quebec’s Cathedral-Basilica of Notre Dame closes Dec. 28, but not before 350,000 have passed through.

A year of celebration in the Archdiocese of Quebec drew more than 350,000 pilgrims through the Holy Door of Quebec City’s Cathedral-Basilica of Notre Dame de Québec.
