Wendy Ashby, the trustee for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) mired in controversy because of her past Twitter activity deemed anti-Christian has reportedly resigned from her position.

Catholic school trustee Wendy Ashby has shown a penitential measure of class and character April 26 by publicly apologizing for her bizarre Twitter outburst against “white Christian” men and the “white women” who support “christofascist patriarchy.”

Wendy Ashby, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) trustee under fire from parents for posts on Twitter deemed as “racist, sexist and anti-Christian,” has broken her public silence with a statement released on the school board’s website. 

Politics at the best of times can make anyone’s blood boil, from the mundane local ordinances enforced by your local council right up to the big decisions that affect every-day life, which are of extreme importance to most, especially peoples’ pocketbooks. And there is no “right” side, everyone has their own opinion. Hence, politics, we are told, is one of those thing to never be brought up in polite company (alongside religion of course).
