Pandemic claims Gideon Travel

Gideon Travel is another victim of the pandemic, announcing that it will be closing its doors for good after 61 years in business. Founder Joseph Gideon, seen outside the storefront office in Toronto pioneered the charter business in the 1960s.

After 61 years Gideon Travel has reached the end of the road.

Editorial: Canada's pledge to end child poverty was an empty promise

In an annual report released by Campaign 2000, there are estimated 1.3 million Canadian children living in poverty, with the majority of them from indigenous communities.

There can hardly be a voter or politician who doesn’t believe Canada’s shamefully high rate of child poverty should be promptly reduced and eventually eliminated.
