‘Death kits’ prepared for Quebec doctors

With Quebec’s euthanasia law, Bill 52, coming into effect Dec. 10, the province is preparing for the legalization of assisted suicide by creating “death kits” for its doctors.

OTTAWA - When news leaked Sept. 1 that the Quebec government is preparing “euthanasia kits” for doctors, it came as no surprise to the head of a physicians’ group that opposes euthanasia.

Caritas expertise key in Nepal rebuild

TORONTO - Nepalese are busy rebuilding their country a month after the first of two devastating earthquakes. But the mountainous Asian nation got its practice in disaster recovery putting communities back together during more than a decade of civil war between Maoist rebels and government forces — a war that set individual communities in violent opposition to one another.
