Western University project aims to preserve stained glass

Virgin Mary and Christ Child stained glass at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in London, Ont., created in 1983 by artist Christopher Wallis.

Dr. Cody Barteet quickly became fascinated by the art and craft of stained-glass production when he joined St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in London, Ont., over a dozen years ago.

Windows of inspiration for Catholic men

The stained glass panels at Frassati House in Kingston, Ont. — depicting, from left, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, St. Oscar Romero, St. Maximilian Kolbe and Blessed Karl of Austria — were produced by Joseph Aigner of Artistic Glass in Toronto and commissioned by Fr. Raymond J. de Souza.

In the lead-up to the Nov. 22 feast of Christ the King, young men in Kingston, Ont., were introduced to a saintly king and emperor, Bl. Karl of Austria.

Stained glass stations latest step in Marylake rebirth

A recent stained-glass installation on the grounds of the Shrine of Our Lady at Marylake depicts the 14 stations of the cross. The seven-by-four-foot artworks were created by Toronto artist Stuart Reid.

The “rebirth of Marylake” took another step forward on July 22 with the outdoor installation of 14 stunning stained-glass panels depicting the Stations of the Cross.

Stained glass finishes Jesus’ story

MISSISSAUGA, ONT.  - St. Marcellinus Secondary School in Mississauga is planning to build what may be the biggest stained glass window of the resurrected Christ in Canada.
