The perils of the ‘re-gifting season’

  • January 23, 2014

With the Christmas season behind us, so begins the “season of re-gifting.” The other day, my lovely wife was thinking about passing along a Christmas present she didn’t want until I reminded her of a story.

January must be the height of re-gifting season, or at least the time of year when most of us start thinking of ways to pass along gifts we don’t want and cannot return.

Summer months are popular for re-gifting, too, for those getting married. The lion’s share of the 150,000 weddings a year in Canada occur between June and September, according to Wedding Bells magazine. And with every wedding comes several re-gifting opportunities.
