Digging up the roots

  • January 5, 2024

Dave Szollosy’s article “Pilgrims seeking peace register their voice” in The Catholic Register showed equal concern for both sides in the Israel-Hamas war.

He accurately states the “murderous attack of Oct. 7” by Hamas didn’t “emerge from a vacuum.” The roots of this conflict date back to the founding of Israel in 1948, which resulted in the displacement of 800,000 Palestinians.

Now there’s a worldwide call for the formation of an independent Palestinian state. There will be no peaceful resolution to this conflict without the two-state solution.
