Truth be told

  • March 14, 2024

Those who are sincerely looking for proof that Indigenous children died in residential schools and were buried in unmarked graves should have attended the March 5-7 National Knowledge Sharing Event on Residential Schools Missing Children and Unmarked Burials in Regina.

The work that has been done and is underway to search burial sites and residential school records has provided conclusive evidence of such deaths and burials. Unfortunately the searches are complex and expensive and are hindered by the refusal of Catholic organizations to release records.

They should heed Bishop Henry’s challenge, “There has to be a fundamental commitment to discover the truth whatever it is.”

John Williams,
