Catholic Enquirer?

  • November 22, 2024

The front page of the Oct. 6 The Catholic Register looks and reads more like The National Enquirer than a respectable Catholic newspaper. It is distasteful.

I understand that the mindset must be to NOT hide and cover-up allegations of clerical abuse as the Church needs to be transparent. But for crying out loud, do it in a matter-of-fact way, not in this in your face, dramatic style typical of today’s media outlets.

Having voiced my opinion and that of some friends, I will say the Sept. 15 cover “Courting Injustice,” and the corresponding article by Lea Karen Kivi, were informative and well received.  The Sept. 8 cover and story were also beautiful, hopeful and uplifting. God bless us all.
